Spring... Ready, set, go!

Our first spring hike in the mountains, this year, we start with a beautiful round trip in and above Montbovon.

You can park right at the train station and follow route 273. We pass the impressive chapel in the direction of the hydroelectric power station. We follow the Saane on the left side, which forms a lake further up. Cozy places invite you to barbecue and cool down. The path continues to meander up and down along the water to the historic, covered wooden bridge Pont de Lessoc.

Afterwards, the natural road climbs steadily. From la Petite Chia a narrow stony path leads through forest and over extensive alpine pastures. Since these are not yet occupied, we can continue our tour in a relaxed manner.

Arriving at the top of Alp La Bra, we take a longer rest and enjoy the warm sun rays, the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the wide view over the Intyamon valley. After a longer break we start the descent over pastures and forest back to Montbovont station. Although the pastures are very dry, small beautiful crocuses sprout everywhere from the ground and with a little luck, you can still observe chamois. Since the ascent / descent is quite steep and you can not see what is still under the foliage, it is recommended to take sticks.
