Nathalie with Morris (from 20.07.18):

Yesterday we tackled the Aargauer Aussichtsweg from Schöftland to Beinwil am See! It's wonderful with a dog - the paths are all good and easy to walk. However, as there are no wells, especially in the first part of the hike, it is essential that you bring enough water for your dog. Only in Gontenschwil the first little brook (village brook) and the Wyna, which make a cooling possible. Until then the path is almost exclusively forest and field path. But the asphalt road through the village is quickly covered and soon the ascent to the Homberg begins.
The route from Zetzwil up to the Homberg is then (at least for inexperienced hikers) quite steep and simply doesn't want to end ... but on the Hochwacht you are rewarded with a great view of the Hallwilersee and Baldeggersee. There are also barbecue areas with tables and various seats, a ToiToi and a fountain with hand pump. For those who do not have heavy legs yet, the ascent of the Homberg tower is surely the icing on the cake.

After an extensive rest we walked towards the lake - just down through the fields and through a residential area (little to no shade and partly asphalted roads again) with the anticipation of the following cool water! According to the official route, the hike would end at Beinwil am See station. But we walked the few hundred meters down to the lake to cool down and refresh ourselves. In the restaurant we were allowed (on the terrace) to sit down at a table with dogs without any problems.

For the way back we had to take the train and went home from Beinwil am See station.

All in all a great walk with dog. Due to the partially asphalted sections of the route through the villages, it is advisable to postpone the hike until the still cooler time of day and to take enough water with you.
