From the starting point Habergschwänd, which you reach with the nostalgic chair lift from Filzbach, you first hike in a pleasant, about half-hour ascent to the Mittlere Nüenalp. There you will find the adventure cheese dairy, where you can recover from the short ascent in the cosy Besenbeiz or buy products fresh from the farm. The reward is a unique view to the north, on fog-free days as far as the Black Forest.

Over rough and smooth, the relatively flat path leads through lush pastures and idyllic woods before reaching the highest point in the Adamsloch at 1,431 metres. There follows a short descent to Sattelboden: from there you have a wonderful view of the opposite Oberseetal with its glistening lake, the striking Brünnelistock and the various cultivated Alps. Incidentally, this is also the only alp where Ziger is still produced in the Glarnerland.

On a gently descending path you approach the Mullerenberg. Via Chummenwald, the trail then leads to the Fronalpstock restaurant. From here it is only a few metres to the destination of the hike, the Friends of Nature House. Once there, you will be rewarded with a view over the whole of the Glarnerland. By then at the latest you will have earned a tasty meal.

Along the way you will find ten informative stations on the Schabziger, including a mechanical Stöckli forming machine from 1910, which originally formed the Zigerstöckli in the "Zigerribi" mollis for many years.
