Alessia Sandra and the dogs Mirco Dream and Tao (from 14.04.24):

We park our car near the zoo.

After just a few steps outside the village, the ascent begins. Despite the narrow path, it is easy to avoid it, as there are several trails in places.

Keeping an eye out for the flourishing flora, the trail climbs steadily.

At an altitude of 818 metres above sea level, it is worth turning right and following the wider path for 100 metres: On the one hand, you are rewarded with a view and on the other, there is a refreshment stop for the dogs.

Back on the hiking trail, we continue uphill through the forest. To our left, we keep hearing cowbells and are curious to see if we have to walk past another herd of cows. But we are in luck. At this time of year, the cows are not yet on the higher meadow, which we cross after the ascent.

With a wonderful panoramic view of the Rigi and later also of Lake Zug, we now take a few steps straight ahead. You should allow enough time here to enjoy the magnificent view.

Yes, and then it's back to the descent. There are three barbecue areas on this part of the trail: one in the meadow and the other two in the adjoining woodland which you cross.

And then you're back in Goldau (mostly via side roads), the parking lot or the train station.

At the end, we enjoy a delicious piece of cake and a coffee on the spot.
