Solothurn Youth Hostel

Solothurn Youth Hostel

The magic number 11 appears again and again in the former ambassadorial residence of the French royal family. There are 11 churches and chapels in the picturesque old town, 11 historic fountains among the patrician houses and 11 museums. The Cathedral of St. Ursus, the city's landmark, was built in 11 years, the façade is 3x11 meters high, 11 bells hang in the tower and the staircase consists of 3x11 steps. And what do the locals prefer to drink on the banks of the Aare? An "Öufi beer". Magical experiences without numbers games can also be had in the rugged Verena Gorge, in the Stork Village, on a panoramic excursion to the Weissenstein or at the Film Festival.
