Turren round trip

Reto, Tanja and Kesh (from 13.02.23):

We park our car on the public pay parking lot of the Turren cable car in Lungern. The cable car climbs steeply and gives a clear view over the whole of Lungern with the reservoir. Arrived in Turren we mount our snowshoes and off we go towards the First. In Turren there is a restaurant and also overnight accommodations. We take the steeper ascent first. We prefer to take the less steep way on the way back. The ascent is not without difficulty, but it is declared as an easy route, perhaps also because it is the shortest tour. We take it because Kesh is already 12 years old. But there would be more demanding tours to choose from. When we reach the ridge, an incredible panorama opens up! We recognize Meirigen - Hasliberg and the Titilis. We continue to an alp with the name First. Here it has a nice chapel and also a bench to rest. It even has a public toilet elevated that it can be reached even with more snow. Now we take the path back, it is less steep and makes many turns. Happily we reach tours again. Here it still has a Sesseli and Gondeli and a gondola from earlier, when there was a ski resort here, exhibited. But just because it is now no longer a ski resort, we find it very relaxing and recommendable here for a snowshoe tour!
