Von Robasacco auf den Cima di Medeglia

Very varied circular hike, which initially leads steadily uphill through beautiful chestnut forests.

Once at the top, the trail continues slightly uphill through sparse birch forests. There are always wonderful places for a picnic along the way. Particularly worth mentioning is a small viewpoint for which you have to deviate about 50 meters from the path (follow the symbol for a viewpoint). For the ascent to Cima di Medeglio, follow the signpost across a now open plain. Once at the top, you have a fantastic 360° view over Ticino and the flat summit invites you to take a break in the sun.

The route then continues downhill through beautiful forests on sometimes rather steep and stony paths to Robasacco.

There are many streams along the way where the dogs can cool off and drink.

In summer, however, the hike is only recommended to a limited extent: on the one hand because of the many meters in altitude, which could be very strenuous for the dogs at higher temperatures, on the other hand the streams are dry at best and in certain places there are also cows and horses on the alpine pastures.

There are no refreshment stops along the way and we hardly met any other hikers on the entire route.
