Nathalie and Christian with Indira (from 31.05.19):

We start at the beautiful church in the small village of Sornetan, which we leave immediately in the direction of Bellelay. The first part of the route is also characterized by the typical Jura meadows and forest. Bellelay we only touch the edge of the village, but there is a beautiful former monastery and the museum + show dairy Tête de Moine. It is definitely worth visiting this on another day. At Bellelay the hiking trail is rather badly marked. From the small cemetery a trail follows, which splits after a short time, from there on follow the left one. We allowed ourselves a small detour through the beautifully situated moorland, which is equipped with wooden bridges and a beautiful footbridge. Afterwards we take the path again, which soon leads us to Montbautier, steep, stony through the forest and over pasture. From here we continue comfortably on asphalt road. The Scheidegger Ranch invites you to stay (where you can also stay overnight). But since it is already quite warm we continue our walk and take another rest a little later and enjoy the wonderful view. The last part towards Tramelan leads downhill again over typical Jura pastures. The 2nd stage itself, leads over hard surfaces and in the sun. We recommend to walk it in spring, autumn or in the early morning hours. Most of the stage is in the nature reserve, so dogs must be kept on a leash. Barbecuing is only allowed at the official barbecue sites.
