Nathalie and Livia with Indira and Kaya (from 11.10.18):
We start this round trip with the Rigi train from Vitznau to Rigi Kaltbad. From there the hike begins on a wide, only asphalted road. This route is also ideal for prams and is the longest barrier-free hiking trail on the Rigi, and is very well marked and signposted. There are comfortable seats everywhere to enjoy the 360 degree panorama. Historical buildings as well as a tunnel and a viaduct remind of nostalgic times. It is a comfortable 2.2 hours to Rigi Scheidegg. This path is also a dream in winter.
The subsequent way back to Hinterbergen leads from time to time over (mother) cow herds (trail - no longer barrier-free). Although we are all a bit sceptical about the pasture, everything goes smoothly at a brisk pace. As far as Hinterbergen we have a wonderful panorama at our feet again. If you want to, you can start the final spurt to Vitznau on foot (approx. 1.5 hours) or take the private train (small gondola).
A wonderful, panoramic round trip where dogs are allowed on all routes free of charge. Many thanks to the Rigi Bahnen AG!
