Hirzli Circuit: Rocky and Franziska with family

This route starts at the top station Morgenholz and leads you at the beginning past various beautiful wooden sculptures (Niederurner Skulpturaweg). Follow the signs "Hirzli-Rundweg". The trail leads through the forest past the Morgenholz holiday home, over the Schwinfärch Alp 1174m and the forester's lodge 1461m (picnic area with benches and great views!) to the Hirzli 1641m. Once there, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view over the entire Linth plain, Lake Walen and part of Lake Zurich. With good visibility you can even see as far as the Black Forest. For hikers who are free from giddiness and sure-footed there is the possibility to walk up to the Planggenstock 1675m after a short descent. But we did not do this ourselves, as our children were there. We descended directly to the Alp Planggen, where Rocky was allowed to cool down a little at the fountain. The path leads partly quite steeply through forest and down over meadows until you reach a gravel path again. Here we are on the sculpture path again. The path leads to the Bodenberg where the Hirzli mountain restaurant is located and then goes directly back to the Morgenholz mountain station.
