Livia and Thomas with Kaya (from 20.01.24):

Today we start a particularly scenic tour - Aprili/Aminona.

This snowshoe trail is ideal for people who love untouched nature and tranquillity, with panoramic views of the majestic four-thousand-metre peaks.

As it is the weekend, we want to find some peace and quiet and therefore start very early. It's worth it, because the free parking spaces on site are in great demand.

We take the ascent comfortably under our feet/paws and enjoy every moment when the sun shines on our faces. The magnificent Alpine panorama accompanies us on the whole tour and we can never get enough of the view.

Well-deserved is well-deserved and so after this ascent we take advantage of the restaurant opportunity in Hameau de Colombire (1850m) and treat ourselves to a refreshment.

But the tour is far from over, as we continue on to La Cave du Scex, through the magical winter landscape.

Here we let ourselves be pampered, enjoy a delicious lunch in a deckchair and try to put the right names to the many mountain peaks on the horizon.

It's a good thing we set off early, because it doesn't take long and the coveted terrace seats are all taken. Slowly, queues start to form, which we take as a sign to move on.

The way back to Aminona can be tackled either on snowshoes via the trail or along the road. We opted for the road as it winds its way gently down into the valley.

A great tour that should definitely be on the to-do list in Crans Montana.
