The gorgeous autumn weather could not remain unused. So I made myself with Belina quite spontaneously on the way to Elm.
By gondola of the Sportbahnen Elm we went to the mountain station Empächli. From the top station we followed the signpost in the direction of Hängstboden. Right at the beginning, the trail led past the Bergeizli Älpli. It would have been wonderful to stop there for a bite to eat. In addition, there was a fountain construction in front of the terrace of the Bergbeizli, which immediately gave Belina her first refreshment and invited children to splash around.
On a wide gravel path we hiked leisurely up through forest sections and past fir trees. Occasionally we encountered an agricultural vehicle or other hikers. On the way towards Hängstboden we also passed the mountain restaurant Bischofalp.
The better we could look over the firs, the more of the Glarus mountains we got to see. The mountain peaks sprinkled with snow made us long for winter. At the same time, I enjoyed the warm rays of the sun and the greenery around me.
I found the "Ghaltigen" on the Bischofsalp, some of which are over 300 years old, remarkable. In the past, these stables, reminiscent of wooden huts, were used to store hay.
After Hängstboden, we remained faithful to our gravel road and walked along it to the Bischofalp game observation station. The game observation station consisted of a covered platform that looked out over the mountain slopes of Bischofalp. With a little luck, animal sightings are possible.
The gravel path ended after a while in a meadow path. On the path we crossed mountain streams again and again and their splashing underlined the idyll. Yes, this hike is truly for connoisseurs.
Over the Ämpächli Oberstafel a gravel path led downhill and at a mouth we met the road, which already led away from the Empächli mountain station. Finally we arrived at the Empächli mountain station. I treated myself to refreshments at the Ämpächli mountain restaurant before taking the gondola back down to the valley.
