Reto and Tanja with Kesh (from 04.04.21):
We park our car at the train station in Büren an der Aare. The tour could be extended for example from Solothurn by boat to Grenchen and then from Grenchen along the Aare to Büren by foot. From Büren an der Aare we take the train to Dotzigen. In Dotzigen we walk southwards to Dotzigenberg. On the way we see the pretty inhabited castle of Dotzigen. As we walk up the lane we already have a great view of the foothills of the Alps through the trees. On the top we come to a fireplace and a pretty forest house. On the high trail we pass erratic boulders worth protecting, the "graue Stei" and the "Schalestei". Again and again we can look at the Alps, when the trees are greener, you might have to walk a bit to the mountain edge to enjoy the panorama. Now we could still see well through the trees. As the path leads us down towards Büren we have a nice view of the Jura with the Wandflueh above Grenchen. Soon we come to a brook and a fish pond, which belongs to the Burgergemeinde Büren. Kesh can cool down here. Soon we return to the pretty town of Büren. Here many restaurants and shops invite you to stay. The tour can also be done without the train on foot along the Aare and then the old Aare to Dotzigen.
