With Filou at Walter Zoo Gossau

Christina Bollhalde (April 2021):

"Finally after a long time we could redeem our won entrance tickets for the Walter Zoo in Gossau, unfortunately Corona prevented us from doing this in a more timely manner.
Our Filou is an Australian Cobberdog, a very child-loving dog and as far as children are concerned also very stress-resistant. This was also a good thing today, we took one of our grandchildren with us today and since it is spring break, it was teeming with happy children. I was very curious to see how Filou would behave towards the animals, as he sometimes fights with large animals on the television.......

Shortly after the entrance we came to the tiger enclosure, Filou had smelled it before and was already correspondingly excited. When then the two tigers in the cage moved, he could not control himself any more and has offered them the fight. Everything was tense at him and at some point he just had to bark...... Also with the lions it was no different, with the cats of prey we definitely could not pick him up from his fighting desire (maybe it was also fear) and have removed us quickly. There was so much exciting stuff to see, the camels still rattled him briefly as they came along the way, but otherwise it went great. However, I have also seen more relaxed dogs, a Ridgeback for example could not impress anything, but probably that is individual. Our Filou loves to hunt (if you would let him), that showed again very clearly today.
It was a nice day with a lot of impressions, which he has been processing in his sleep for 5 hours now.

Recommendable and very interesting for every dog owner to observe how the dog behaves and how stress resistant he is, we had some dog encounters inside the zoo and they were all very relaxed.

Thank you again and best regards, Christina"
