From Sandra L. with Azurit and Janto and Sandra M. Chesmu and Juna (from 20.05.18):
We started late in the morning in Einsiedeln at the train station. The last parking lot is intended for longer parking. With a little luck we got a parking space. The weather was cloudy and around 16°C. Motivated we started in direction of the monastery and meandered past the countless pilgrims who were waiting for the service. Well signposted we continued behind the monastery through a romantic alley towards nature, Trachslauer Moos. So after a short time we already had nature paths. The time indications on the hiking signs served us as a good orientation. A constant companion is the alp, a small river where the dogs could always drink fresh water. Next to the paths there are always curious cows behind the fences. Passing the impressive Benedictine monastery of Au, we reach the "kht Café" (kht Café GmbH Trachslauerstr. 13, 8840 Trachslau). It invites us to take a small cosy rest. They are very dog-friendly and immediately brought our dogs a water bowl, is highly recommended. Afterwards we went on in the direction of Alpthal. After crossing the road, the dogs had another cooling bath in the Alp before they went uphill. For the ascent to Hagenegg good shoes are recommended, because the stones and the scree were a bit slippery, because in between a small brook crossed the path from time to time. The quite strict ascent was soon rewarded with a madly beautiful view of the two Mythen, which became our constant companions from now on. In the mountain inn Haggenegg we allowed ourselves another break with a wonderful view, "Schwitzer music" and dancing. On the way down there is also a small shelter. Again and again one can enjoy the beautiful view. Arrived in Schwyz, the tarred roads start again. We walked to the bus station, then by bus to Biberbrugg and from the station by train the last stops to our car.
