Sandra L with Kaluori, Sandra M with Chesmu and Juna, Ruth with Pinio (from 03.06.18):
We started in Rheinau. At the indoor and outdoor pool Aquarina we could park for free. From there we followed the signs "Via Rhenana" in the direction of the Rhine. On narrow natural paths along the water, surrounded by nature and small brooks, we were amazed by the different sunrays and the Rhine again and again. With two dogs and oncoming traffic the paths were very narrow. It went constantly up and down, the way made curves that one never got bored. The Rhine invites again and again for a swim, which is also provided on hot days for cooling, while the trees provide shade. Directly on the way is the open-air and Rhine bath Bachdelle in Dachsen. It is characterised by swimming pools, a bathing area on the Rhine and a dog run delimited by a stream. At the kiosk there is an exceptionally large selection of food and drinks, which invite you to linger. Down by the river we now continue in the direction of Schaffhausen. The closer you get to the Rhine Falls, the more tourists there are on the paths, it is advisable to keep your dogs on a short leash here. At the impressive Rhine Falls there are always opportunities to take pictures, depending on how many people are there, you should plan a little time here. A sunbathing lawn above the Rhine Falls offers space to relax. Boat tours are also offered here. We went on to the beautiful old town of Schaffhausen, whose landmark, the Munot, could be seen from far away, through the magnificent alleys to the train station. We went by train and bus about 35 minutes to Rheinau back to the Aquarina. And so quickly an impressive day came to an end.
